The stands of Norway Pine can become very dense in northern Minnesota.
This natural crowding creates a competition for sunlight between the
trees. The trees that become shaded will eventually die from a lack of
sunlight. We selectively harvest only the shaded trees in the stand.
This ensures that the remaining trees will have a chance to reach their
full potential.
